That’s why in Inhotim, instead of visiting the art collection, people come to see the botanical collection. Inhotim is located in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brasil and it is famous for its collection o contemporary art. But it seems that nature beats the man and laughs at his vanity. Considering people were more attractive by the plants, Inhotim had the idea of creating a Botanical Shop where they can sell both plants and gardening utensils.

The idea was put in practice by the architects from Rizoma, Maria Paz and Thomaz Regatos. They designed an area of 198 sqm as an opened botanical shop. I say it’s opened because the space only has two walls and two service boxes. This way, the interior communicates with the exterior, by letting the plants breathe and in the same time it protects them from bad weather.

Another advantage of this opened design is that it almost invites people to visit it. With no boundaries and limits, both people and plant feel freer. The project was completed in 2011 and since then it attracts more and more visitors.{found on archdaily}.
