GlasItalia Adds A Touch Of Magic To Glass Furniture As We Know It

The mesmerizing furniture featured by GlasItalia was one of the stars this January at Maison & Objet Paris. This is where the newest collection of the talented designers behind the brand was exhibited for the first time. The collection presents a series of eye-catching products which give new meaning to glass furniture by playing with color. For more wonderful designs you can also visit the company’s flagship store in Milan where products from the most recent to historical models famous worldwide are displayed.

The Nesting series by  Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec includes a set of low tables with square tops and cylindrical legs. They’re entirely made of glass and they’re available in four color options: transparent, amber and two tones of green. The top is made of extremely thick poured glass and the legs are in blown glass. The nature of the techniques used ensures that each product is unique and characterized by little details that make it stand out from the crowd.

Perhaps you remember these eye-catching tables from our highlights from Maison & Objet Paris featured a few days ago. They’re part of the Shimmer series by Patricia Urquiola. They mesmerized everyone at the fair with their iridescent multicolored finish. The color changes depending on where the viewer stands and on the angle at which the light falls on the tables. This gives them a magical allure. You can find the table in transparent or acid-etched glass. The series includes high and low tables as well as consoles, all featuring circular tops.

GlasItalia also offers a series of exquisite dining tables. The Lady Hio collection includes tables with round and rectangular tops made of thick glass. They’re available in three color options: yellow cedar, warm gray and rose-colored orange. The tables have legs in blown and molded borosilicate glass with either a transparent finish or one that matches the color of the top. They feature feet made of brushed and anodized aluminum available in four colors: gold, rose copper, bronze and nickel. The collection was a collaboration between Philippe Starck and S. Schito.

Although the tables seem to be stars of the show, they’re not the only beautiful products offered by the brand. The Commodore cabinets are definitely something to remember. After all, it’s not every day you come across a storage unit made of glass. The Commodore collection by Piero Lissoni includes pieces made of striped or checked printed glass. The units have metal bases with a glossy chrome-plated finish and sliding doors that run on transparent plexiglass tracks, preserving the simplicity and cohesion of the design. The shelves inside are made of thick and tempered 8 mm glass.
