Geometrical Shapes Residence in Poland

This eye-catching residence is located in Cracow, Poland, in a calm and peaceful district of detached houses. The residence was a project developed by Tychy-based studio RS+ Robert Skitek and it’s called the XV House. Its construction was completed in 2011. It’s an extensive residence that sits on 5,110 square feet of land.The XV House features a contemporary design, with simple lines and geometrical shapes stacked together.

The client requested that the house would be as high as possible so that the inhabitants would be able to enjoy the beautiful views. He also requested that the floors would be connected by openings as large as possible between the floors.

In order to make those wishes reality, the architects chose to build the house on the highest point of the street. This way it was inevitably taller that the rest of the residence and this would allow the inhabitants to enjoy the panoramic views, just how the client wanted. As for the design that was chosen, it’s a geometrical and smooth design with cubic shapes and white elevations. With a design lie this, the XV House dominated the neighborhood.

The residence is formed of several shifting white blocks that also delimitate the different zones within the house. Inside there are several separate zones, as well as multipurpose space located on the top floor from where expansive views are also available. On the lower floor a private area has been created that includes the sleeping areas for the children and the parents. The ground floor houses the main living area. There’s also a basement level that includes the garage, the technical area and the guest rooms. Outside there’s a beautiful garden and a swimming pool.{pics by Tomasz Zakrzewski}.
