FASTVíNIC is a fast-food paradise located in Barcelona, Spain. It was designed by Alfons Tost Interiorisme (Alfons Tost). It opened its doors this very summer and it’s a place that celebrates the simple but yet so delicious sandwich. Chef Sergi de Meià spends his days preparing delicious snacks and he only uses high quality, locally-sourced, seasonal, organic products.

But it’s not just the food that is organic. The glasses, trays and many other items are made of recycled material, thus assisting FASTVíNIC to earn a LEED certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The idea was to create a functional and yet cozy and comfortable self-service restaurant where everyone can feel welcomed.

The actual store is composed of two levels. There’s the ground floor that includes the kitchen and the dining area and the underground level with the bathrooms and the service office. On the ground floor there’s a very functional creation, the perimetrical dexion racking that can be used as a seater, a table, a bar, a rack for pots and plants, a shelving system and a wine rack. It seems like a very inviting and warm place. If you add the delicious food, this is the perfect place to be. The organic feature is yet another big plus that draws in even more people. It’s one of the few sustainable and eco-friendly restaurants out there and it’s a nice example to follow.
