Modern California Residence With Farmhouse-Inspired Details
Welcome to Napa Valley, a picturesque location in Northern California with extraordinary views of vineyards and mountains everywhere you look. It’s where a couple chose to build their retirement home and they chose to work with studio Wade Design Architects and Geremia Design. The result was a beautiful California residence that takes advantage of its location and surroundings while also satisfying the owners’ every need.
The project actually consists of a series of separate structures: the main residence, a guest house, a pool house and a garage that looks a lot like a rustic barn. They all have gabled roofs and wood-clad walls and they look charming and welcoming. They also share a strong connection with the immediate surroundings thanks to features such as the outdoor shower, large patio and large windows throughout the volumes.
The interior design and decor allow the outdoor to flow through the spaces, maintaining a balanced and harmonious vibe throughout the main house and all the secondary volumes. Behind the wood-clad exterior you can find white walls, tiled floors and large windows with black frames which stand out. The color palette is limited to pale and neutral tones which allows the views to enjoy a prominent role in the overall interior decor.
In the kitchen, there’s an elegant marble island with a casual dining table with bench seating next to it. There’s also a separate more formal dining area. The master bedroom suite features glass doors which offer direct access outdoors and a spacious and inviting bathroom with a freestanding tub, large windows and mirrors which reflect the views.
