Contemporary Mop House in Kuwait by AGI Architects

Until now we have covered two projects from AGI Architects, first the black and white house and second the star house. With a name like this you would expect something a little more modern. Surprisingly, the Mop house is a very luxurious property located in Al-Nuzha, Kuwait. It was designed by international design studio AGI Architects that has offices in Spain and Kuwait. The residence was completed in 2010. It’s a luxurious property with a contemporary and very simple and eye-catching design.

The clients originally requested a residence that would accommodate a family with two children. However, after planning and discussing the matter with the architects, the team reached a final solution. The residence was built with a flexible design so that, if needed, it would be possible to divide it into two volumes. The main idea behind the project was to allow privacy between the children and the parents.

In order to achieve that goal, the architects had to come up with a functional structure and to distribute the rooms in a way that would allow circulation and that would also guarantee privacy between the areas in the future. The house can be accessed from both sides. This way there’s a private and a public entrance. There’s a curved wall that guides to the center of the house where you reach the main entrance.

As you enter, you can see the swimming pool and the public living areas. The interior design is minimalist, very elegant and modern. The kitchen is spacious and bright. The dining area is also large and it has a round table with comfortable chairs around it. The living area is vast with a curved wall and a warm and inviting décor. A pool and an outdoor area separate the two volumes and also create the connection between them.
