Contemporary family residence in Poland

This lovely home is located in Jozefow, Poland. It has been recently built and it features a minimalist contemporary design. The residence was a project by ZAG Architekci. It covers an area of 300 square meters and it was completed in 2011. In this case it was the terrain that dictated the design of the house. The building was strongly influenced by the conditions of the site and the architects had to adapt and change their design according to these elements.

The house sits on a 2-acre site. It was built on the highest point of the plot from where it benefits from beautiful and panoramic views of the Lodz Hills Landscape Park. Deciding on the exact location of the residence was easy. Deciding on a design, however, was a little more challenging. The clients used to travel a lot and they were also very sensitive to beauty and architecture so they had some very specific requests in this sense.

The clients wanted a very simple design and a home that would be functional and that would take full advantage of its location. They requested a large living space with large windows and southern exposure. This way they would be able to admire the views offered by the position of the house during the house. The clients also requested that the night areas would be oriented towards east so that they could benefit from natural light in the morning and then being able to relax in the shade.

The architects came up with a simple design. The house has a rectangular shape with a gable roof one third of the length of the building that also creates a small usable garret. The house also has a terrace. The interior is functionally divided into day zone and night zones. It features wooden floors throughout, diffused light and colorful details here and there.{found on archdaily}.
