Contemporary Apartment in Brazil Shows Minimalism Can Also Be Inviting
Earlier this year studio archi[lab] completed the design of a stunning apartment located in Apucarana, Brazil. The apartment has a total surface of 217 square meters. It was designed to look minimalistic and at the same time sophisticated. The contemporary style is approached here in a very pleasant and enjoyable manner. The spaces are designed in a way that allows them to maintain their simplicity but also to be very welcoming and comfortable. Like most contemporary homes, the apartment features an open floor plan where all the social functions are gathered together. The living room, dining area and kitchen are seamlessly connected.
Although grey seems to be the predominant color this doesn’t make the apartment seem dull or monotonous. There’s actually a variety of different textures and materials that make up for the lack of color and give the apartment a unique identity. Stone, glass and wood are the dominant ones. They complement each other beautifully and are used strategically throughout the spaces. The living area is a big open space that together with the kitchen and dining room forms a spacious social volume, ideal for entertaining guests.
Each of these distinct functions stands out in its own way and has elements that differentiate it from the others. The private areas are minimalistic as well and feature the same color scheme. All it takes is a quick look to see that this apartment is a very welcoming and cozy home. It’s a space that invites users to enjoy activities that bring them comfort. It does all that by showcasing a perfect blend of minimalism and luxury.
