Cheerful apartment for a new beginning

Ro, the owner of this place, said she moved here after her husband passes away. She needed a change and this place was perfect because it was close to her daughter and grandchildren and close to their school. This 2,000 square feet apartment is quite large but before moving in there Ro still had to give up some of the furniture and personal belongings.

As you enter the apartment, there’s a small hallway that leads to a large reception/dining area with a double height ceiling. Ro decided to place there a comfy sofa near the window and her wingback chair. Her daughter Alexis is an interior designer so she helped make this place come to life. Ro already had plenty of furniture but she wanted some new colors and textures and that’s where Alexis became a great help.

Ro decided to preserve the dining table. Even though it was old and had all sorts of scratches on it, it had great sentimental value to her children that remembered eating at that table together with their parents and school friends. A lot of elements from this apartment tell a special story. Above the table there’s a balloon-shaped chandelier with bronze-colored leaves curling around its arms that adds elegance to the entire room.

From the reception/dining room you reach the drawing room. The walls are painted a very pale grey and each piece of furniture is covered in a different fabric. The guest room has powder blue/grey wallpaper and tiny printed design and a gilded three-armed chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The entire apartment is filled with cheerful prints and fabrics and it’s a very beautiful new beginning for Ro.{found on wealdentimes}
