Charming Lakeside House Uses Corten Steel With Blend In With Nature
Situated on the shore of Lake Charlebois in the region of Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson in Canada, this house has a very intriguing design, appearing to be composed out of two separate and independent volumes. One of the volumes is a two-storey module with an exterior clad in corten steel and the other is a single-storey space with a black dyed cedar exterior shell. The two volumes are arranged to form an L-shaped floor plan.
The house which is designed by Paul Bernier Architecte is just as beautiful on the inside. It sits on a wooden and slightly sloped site and the owners wanted most of the spaces to be level with the land. The internal floor plan is organized into two wings, one being a day zone and the other being a more private volume. The area where the two wings meet is a two-storey space which has a garage at the bottom and a guest bedroom and office space at the top. A series of floating stairs connects the two floors.
