Charlotte Perriand’s 1934 Beach House Brought To Life By Louis Vuitton

Charlotte Perriard lived between 1903 and 1999 and she was the world’s first famous female architect. At one point, she designed a prefabricated holiday home for the working classes and it was an ingenious project but it only got the respect and recognition it deserved recently. So the project was brought back to life 80 years later and now we can finally take advantage of the designer’s wonderful idea.

It’s made of wood and aluminum and it features a very fluid and seamless connection between the indoors and the outdoors, an element which is very common in most modern structures.

What’s interesting is the fact that, when the designer first came up with the idea for this house, nobody wanted to build it. Now it can finally be appreciated. Of course, the original design of the house had to be adapted in order to make it more suitable for these times. However, the main elements which define it have been preserved. The house is made of wood and aluminum which makes it low cost and thus affordable as well as possible to prefabricate.{found on telegraph}.
