Stylish Holiday Cabin With Great Views And A Small Lakeside Dock

This beautiful little waterfront cabin is located in Gron, The Netherlands and was only recently completed by studio Lichststad Architecten. It’s designed to take advantage of the surrounding environment, the views and the landscape and has a small wooden deck and a dock extending out towards the lake, anchoring this holiday home to the ground in a really nice and organic way. The house has an asymmetrical shape, with a low pitched roof that gently extends on one side and forms a small overhang as the glazed walls fold inwards at the center.

A strong connection with the surrounding environment was crucial for this design so the architects made sure to add large windows and openings to the house and to take advantage of the orientation and views in the best ways possible. The fact that the roof is flush with the exterior walls for the most part gives the house a really simple and uncomplicated look which in turn allows the focus to be on the beautiful scenery that surrounds it. Inside, each level has a different view and the spaces are connected by a metal staircase that splits into two sections. The concrete floor unifies the spaces and adds a modern-industrial twist to the decor.
