Breezy White And Gold Accents Meet In A Classically Beautiful Apartment

Finding that perfect balance when you’re decorating an apartment is very difficult, especially when you also want to mix two or more styles. But there’s always a way. Sometimes simplicity is the key. Other times you just have to find the right elements to combine. In the case of this apartment, the balance was created using a color palette based on lots of white and on glamorous gold accents.

The apartment has an open floor plan and the distinction between functions is very faint and also very smooth. The kitchen and the living area are connected by the dining space which is part of both zones. The color palette gradually richens. The kitchen is almost completely white and color starts to make its presence noticed in the dining area only to become a focal point in the living area.

The hanging pendant light in the lounge area is the focal point of this particular area and of the whole room in fact. Its shiny, glossy finish and simple yet intriguing color make it the perfect choice to balance out the décor.

Apart from the pendant light, there’s not a lot of color in the room. That unusual piece of artwork displayed on the crisp white would be an exception. It just shows that very simple things can have a big impact if used right.

There is, however, an even more eye-catching element in the room. We’re talking about that brightly colored green piece which is definitely an unexpected element. It is, however, quite refreshing.

This open floor plan feels very bright and airy and it actually is, given the fact that there are so many windows. They all let in tons of natural light and they make the while walls shine and the accent colors stand out even more.

The dining table placed in between the kitchen and the living room is actually multifunctional. It can also serve as a kitchen island, given that there’s not enough space to have them both. Because the table is black, it contrasts with the crisp white kitchen but it also ensures coherence throughout.

The style here is an interesting mix. On one hand, we have a series of classical elements like that forever Eames Lounge Chair. On the other hand, some unexpected details give the space a very casual and relaxed look and we’re mainly talking about the artwork in this case. There are also some in-between pieces such as the leather sofa which is a little modern but also somewhat traditional. All these elements are brought together harmoniously by the Tom Dixon Copper Shade Lamp.

As you can, a lot of attention was given to little details which are not necessarily visible at first sight but which make the whole décor look stunning when everything is in place.

The same attention to detail can also be noticed in the bedroom where the décor is simple throughout but every little element is carefully and strategically chosen. There’s even a copper pendant light from Tom Dixon that matches the one in the living room although the shape is different.

The yellow painting displayed here is merely a burst of color meant to break the monotony of the décor. Yellow is a very cheerful color so its presence here offers energy and dynamism to the space.

There’s also a matching yellow chair here and it forms what seems to be a reading corner. Strategically placed close to the window, this cozy reading spot takes advantage of the natural light. A flexible lamp is there for when the sun is not around.

The bedroom also has a little balcony. It’s tiny but there’s enough space there for a seat and a small table. What better way to start the morning than with a breath of fresh air?{found on bo-laget}.
