Brazilian Architect Jorge Elias’s home in Sao Paulo

This is the home of Brazilian architect Jorge Elias. It’s an imposing house located in Sao Paulo and it has a very interesting and unique interior décor. The architect has created a décor that combined antique and contemporary influences. These seem like two opposite styles, but not when you know how to play with them.

This beautiful neoclassical mansion is located in quiet and tranquil neighborhood. Here, the architect, also known as antiques dealer, interior decorator and owner of a home furnishing boutique, lives with his wife Lucila and their children Manuela and Eduardo. They started building this magnificent house 14 years ago when a lot was available. It was a great opportunity and, as you can see, the space was well used.

The mansion is a 17,000 square foot faux limestone structure and it has a unique and original design. It features marble floors and gold-leafed pilasters. Inside, the mansion is filled with antiques and art pieces. The architect and his family have been collecting for more than 30 years so by now they have a very impressive collection.

However, not everything in there is antique. There are also quite a few contemporary pieces that beautifully blend into the décor. It’s an odd combination but the result is surprisingly natural. Among some of the unique pieces that they’ve collected over the years, we can mention an 18th century sculpture from Bangkok and a Roman torso from Syria. Every little object has great sentimental value and together they all reflect the journey that the couple is on.{found on AD}.
