Modular Prefab Cabin With a Stylish Black Exterior
Guided by the desire to connect people with nature and to offer them a new type of small buildings which can allow them to embrace outdoor living without having to solely rely on customized projects which are developed over long period of time, studio Koto Design has come up with the idea of an off the shelf prefab cabin.
This housing solution is inspired by the Nordic concept of Friluftsliv which roughly translates as open-air living. The studio offers a series of cabin-like modules designed to offer a variety of functions and capable of being used as single standalone units or as modules in a more complex setting. Design-wise they’re sculptural and modern interpretations of traditional mountain retreats.
The modules are compact and simple-looking, with dark facades which allow them to blend into the surroundings but also to stand out. They offer flexible living opportunities, with 1 to 4 bed options and the possibility to add extra features such as outdoor showers or saunas. Inside they feature minimalist storage walls which maximize the floor space and ensure a clean and modern aesthetic. Large glazed facade allow natural light to enter the spaces and cozy window seats and nooks maximize comfort and highlight the views.
