Do you remember the times when you were a kid and had nothing else to do than play and sleep? It was such a beautiful period of time. Obviously, you can’t get it back, but you can relive those moments adult-style with this ingenious cradle created for adults.
It was a collaboration between Richard Clarkson, Grace Emmanual, Brodie Campbell, Jeremy Broker, Eamon Moore, Kahlivia Russell and Joya Boerrigter. The cradle helps you remember those moments when you were stress-free and you could just focus on you and your immediate needs. The idea was to create a piece that would allow adults to feel like children again. The cradle was designed to offer maximum relaxation, comfort and calmness.
It’s extremely cozy and it allows you to completely dissipate inside, to have a moment just for yourself and to relax. Because of its shape, the cradle swings in various directions. It’s the perfect place to fall asleep. The design was heavily directed by a synthesis of research into Autism and children with Rhythmic Movement Disorder (RMD), as well as safety, sustainability, function and aesthetics. As you can see, it was a success on all levels. The cradle might look a little too big so you’ll have to find a special place for it in your home. You could try to create a special corner or room dedicated to relaxation and comfort.
