Architectural Office And Showroom Puts An Artistic Spin On Eclecticism

Architectural firm Sergey Makhno designed their office and showroom themselves and achieved a perfect balance by adopting an eclectic style. Located in Kiev, Ukraine, the showroom covers a total area of 200 square meters. It’s a welcoming space, with a comfortable sectional facing the reception desk and a décor that slowly reveals itself as you advance.

The spaces inside the office are all interconnected, sometimes divided by partial walls to create the feeling of privacy. The wall behind the blue sectional is the barrier between the reception area and the workspace.

From here you can catch a glimpse at the actual office which features a minimalist desk shared by four persons, with two light fixtures hovering above, almost looking like two open shelves from a distance. The concrete wall has a rugged, unfinished texture softened by the simple but elegant lines of the desk, chairs and wall art.

This particular space also includes a large table which also serves as a shared desk and, again, an interesting light fixture stands out as a focal point.

The more you see of this office the more you’ll notice how interesting the light fixtures are. Even these three identical pendant lamps manage to stand out with the way the cords were arranged on the ceiling. This space also feels particularly welcoming thanks to the combination of materials, the textures and the lighting.

Those pendant lamps we’ve just admired can also be seen in a white version here. They’re all clustered above this shared workspace, adding visual interest to the space.

And speaking of clustered light fixtures, feast your eyes on this room. A whole bunch of hanging cord pendants have been put together in an apparently chaotic manner and together with those neon yellow chairs they add visual interest to the space.

Noticed those unusual sculptures yet? They’re not the only ones in the office. The architects decorated the space with works by Ukrainian sculptors and artists and you can see bas-reliefs, statues and sculptures in pretty much every little space.

And don’t you just love the way these chic and colorful chairs contrast with everything around them but somehow don’t feel out of place here?

There’s another unusual element design element here and it’s that concrete wall covered with Epipremnum, a tropical plant brought from Holland. It’s a welcomed touch of color and a super refreshing accent detail that makes the lounge area feel more relaxed and the workspace more inspiring.

Curious where this ladder takes you to? Obviously, not a sober office space.

Climb up and reach a relaxed space with cozy poufs, a wooden table at the center and a glass wall that lets you see everything that’s happening down below.

Remember the bas-reliefs we mentioned. Well here’s how the architects decided to make the bathroom look classy and playful at the same time. Because the room has such a high ceiling, black is not an inappropriate color, even if the room is small.
