Living big in a small home is something that more and more people are familiar with, with lots of projects being developed specifically with this objective in mind. The MJE apartment is a cool project developed by PKMN Architectures as part of the Little Big Houses initiative. The space was designed for a couple living in Mexico and is meant to serve as a comfortable home for its owners and their guests.
What’s surprising in this case is the fact that the home doesn’t have a fixed and well-defined layout. Instead this is an apartment with movable walls which allow it to change its layout and dynamic based on the needs of the inhabitants. At the center of the space there’s a rotating unit which is able to transform the apartment in a matter of minutes. The position of the unit delineates the internal layout of the space, making it possible to add one or two bedrooms whenever needed. Other cool and space-efficient features such as the wall beds increase the flexibility even more.
