The current owner bought the building in 2002 and paid for it $2 million. The renovation started in 2003. At first, he wanted to make one of the apartment his own. Then, when the last tenant moved out of the building in 2006, he decided to turn the whole place into a single family home. It took him many years to complete this project but it was well worth the time and effort.

The house is composed of two triplexes and it has been renovated and updated but the architects tried to keep everything as close to the original as possible. They wanted to recreate the buildings original charm and beauty. The interior is bright, filled with natural light and very spacious. Even though it’s a dream come true, the current owner finds this house to be too much for him. He decided to move into an apartment and to sell the building.{found on wsj}.
