Another charming wood cabin in Austin, Texas

This lovely cedar was originally built as a personal retreat by owners Melissa and Mike Wilson. They found it so charming and beautiful that decided to expand their plans and to build another rental cabin on the property. Their plans will hopefully become reality soon. Until then, let’s take a look at this lovely wooden cabin they built for themselves.

Mountain wood cabin

The cabin is located in Austin, Texas and covers a surface of 1,000 square feet. It has two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. Visually it looks like it’s been there for ages. The interior is decorated with minimal furniture and is very inviting and casual. For example, the living room features a memory foam beanbag that can be paired with a pillow to create an alternative seating solution.

The cabin is very relaxing and cozy. It’s a space where the owners go to relax, to enjoy the quiet and soothing atmosphere and to get away from all the stress. It’s why they don’t have a TV or a phone. They like to spend their time listening to music, reading or simply laying back and enjoying the peaceful and quiet atmosphere.

In the bathroom there’s a vintage claw-foot tub. Overall, the cabin has been decorated using a minimal color palette including toned of brown and green. The atmosphere is very zen and features personalized decorations such as the written reminder that says “Speaking does not always improve upon silence.” and other creative pieces made by the owners themselves.{found on site}.
