A multipurpose school of music in Girona

Espai Ridaura is a facility located in Santa Cristina d’Aro, Girona, in the district of Baix Empordà in Spain. It’s close to the coast and the town center and a popular tourist destination during the summer months. It was a project developed by Capella Garcia Arquitectura. The building is a multipurpose structure that represents both a leisure and a cultural facility.

The original facilities in Santa Cristina started to grow old and the fact that they were located at distance from the town center was not an advantage either. It’s for that reason that building a new facility was imperative. After the concerts of the Santa Cristina International Chamber Music Festival had to be held in a church, it became a true necessity.

As a result, a new facility had to be built. It had to meet the standards of quality in the area and it also needed to be large enough to include all the leisure and cultural facilities. The new structure was also equipped with the latest technology and this was a big improvement.

There you can enjoy stage performances, dances, small trade fairs, lectures, small conferences, etc. It’s a modern structure with a simple design and a surprising interior. It blends beautifully into the surroundings. Moreover, the building has a green roof that combines with the minimalist and contemporary architecture results in a beautiful composition.
