When you’re looking to buy or to build yourself a house, usually the idea is to find a design that has a nice indoor-outdoor space ratio. Still, you rarely see a house that has a terrace or a deck that as big as all the indoor rooms combined. We found such a property in Brazil.
Located in Rio Acima, Minas Gerais, this residence was a project by Brazilian architectural practice David Guerra Architecture. It was called the Lake House project. The result was a luxurious family home with a clean contemporary design. The house was built on an inclined site at high altitude. This made things more challenging but it also meant that the house would have amazing panoramic views.
The main idea behind this particular design was to create a compact central space that would have suspended balconies from where to admire the views and to enjoy the surroundings.Involving the landscape into the whole design was an important part of the project. In total, the residence has a surface of 340 square meters. The design is modern and luxurious, both inside and out.
The first floor contains the garage, a hallway, the laundry room, the living area, the dining space, the master bedroom and a guest bedroom as well as a balcony. The lower level features a games room, the kitchen, a bedroom, a service area, a service bedroom and a bathroom plus a balcony and a large deck.
