A fall décor for your fake mantel

Mantels are great display areas for decorations and they are a classical place for family pictures and Halloween decors. But not everyone has one. If you don’t have a fireplace in your home then you don’t have a mantel either. But you can make a fake one if you like. It’s actually a very ingenious idea. You can use wood to make a sort of shelf and a frame for the mantel and then you can also induce the idea of a fireplace by either painting the wall or using decorations that can help you do that.

Once you have your fake mantel, it’s time to decorate it. A fall décor would be perfect for this time of the year. Here’s an example of how you can do that. You can use clothespins and a rope to create a nice zig-zag pattern. Use leaves as decorations. If you adopt a harvesting theme then you’ll have to gather some things from your garden. For example, you could use some pumpkins if you have, some corn, leaves and flowers.

The flowers would actually look nice in a pot of bucket underneath the mantel.Place the pumpkins on the mantel and add some more decorations as well. Maybe you can find some crows somewhere or, if not, some flowers, pinecones or anything else you can find and that you can use for this project. The cornstalks can go on the sides and they can frame the mantel.{found on creeklinehouse}.
