The house offers beautiful views of the northern part of Prague and this was the main reason why the client even bought it. Martin Cenek Architecture were chosen to be responsible for the house’s complete transformation. It was a challenging project that occupies an area of 218 square meters with a total floor area of 350 square meters. Completed in 2012, the results were amazing.

The client has very few but clear requests. He wanted a house with two separate flats and with a sustainable and efficient design. He also wanted it to have a simple design and requested for simple materials and building techniques to be used. The most challenging part was to deal with the plot itself. The southern part of the original house was partially sunk and shaded by the trees that have grown big since the house was last used. The extension that was requested thus opened the south volume to the garden and brought natural light inside. The other part of the house didn’t allow any interventions and transformations to be made.{found on archdaily}.
