Feeling close to nature when you’re living in an apartment is not an easy thing to do. But you’d be surprised to see how many things can change if you choose the right interior design. You can basically achieve anything with the right details. For example, the theme chosen for this apartment was a ride in the middle of nature.
The apartment is located in Arad, Romania and it belongs to interior designer Cristina Bordoiu. The inspiration for the design appeared quite a long time before she actually purchased the place. It all started when she saw a picture on the internet featuring a bike embedded in a bathroom interior. She immediately knew she wanted to apply the same concept one day and that day has come when she bought this apartment.
The apartment occupies 40 square meters so it’s not exactly spacious. However, it doesn’t seem small. The kitchen is long and narrow and this is a typical shape for lots of Romanian kitchens but few of them are as airy and harmonious-looking as this one. The kitchen and the living room are part of a semi-open plan but they are very well delimited.
As expected, the bathroom has a bike inside but it’s not just for show. It serves as the support structure for the washbasin. The little green area rugs look very much like patches of grass so it’s like taking a stroll through the forest without actually leaving the apartment.
