Ultimate Lake Housing in Italy
The next complex designed by C+S Associati is an important project for the citizens of Pordenone, Italy. The Largo San Giorgio site, where the buildings stand, was inaccessible and private for many years.
The complex is built around the lake, park and the square of San Giorgio church. All of these combined create a splendid public open space. The square is open during day but at night it closes up due to security reasons. The design focuses on the relationship between architecture and landscape. As a result the square is made out of prun stone, the bridges over the lake out of larch wood and the paths of the park out of ochre concrete. Moreover, the buildings present different color schemes, so you can’t tell if the effect on the building’s fold is a shadow or not.
With houses open to the lake, large windows that bring the outdoors indoor, this complex is a wonderful place to live, with the lake becoming its main feature.{found on archdaily}
