Twin houses by Predock Frane Architects

Located in in the Pacific Palisades, a hilly region between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains, this odd combination was designed and coordinated by Predock Frane Architects. It’s a project that dates back to 2008. What you see here is an interesting combination between a courtyard house and a hillside house that have been cleverly placed together in a way that looks almost natural.

The odd combination has given a rare hybrid, a unique design actually that looks modern and quite interesting. The interior design is also a combination of several styles and structures. The overall image is very impressing and modern. As you can see, the design is simple, minimalist even and this applies both to the exterior and the interior of this twin residence. Everything about it seems to be a hybrid, starting with the big project design and finishing with little details that can be seen in the interior design.

The house was built on a steep slope above a seasonal watershed. So it was the landscape that demanded this particular design. So the owners together with the architects decided to embrace the situation and make the best of it. They managed to do that with style. So what sometimes seems like an obstacle can turn out to be something completely different if you know how to look at the situation.
