Once again, Budapest and Vienna Design Week events are just about to start and, of course, we’ll be there to see what’s new and interesting. It’s a great opportunity for designers and those interested in design and architecture to find out what trends are back and to see all sorts of extraordinary creations.
Budapest Design Week is back with its 10th edition and the events take place between the 27th of September and the 6th of October. This year, the focus is on the crossovers in design and the way contemporary creations eliminate almost completely the boundaries between different genres, exploring new ideas and reflecting today’s dilemmas.
This year’s guest of honor is Italy. Moreover, more than sixty amazing creations from 12 countries have been selected to be displayed, showcasing how design interacts with traditions, biotechnology, digital manufacturing and scientific research.
Vienna Design Week 2013 also comes with tons of great surprises. It starts the same day and it will showcase more than 100 events. The emphasis this year is on the creative and production process and visitors can experiment themselves the process of designing and they can explore materials and ideas in workshops. The main concept for the festival is showing how design influences and shapes our culture and our world. It celebrates design and it examines it in detail.
As mentioned, we’ll be there and we’ll be back with fresh ideas and more info on what the festivals offer us this year so stay tuned.
