The Theatrical Redburry Hotel Interior Design

This colorful and artistic hotel is a very unique building, with a spectacular interior and exterior design. It’s a 57-room boutique hotel and it’s called the Redburry Hotel. The name has a significant meaning for famous photographer Matthew Rolston who explains. The name was inspired first of all by the scarlet red color that the hotel had on the exterior. Also, for him the name Redburry is reminiscent of Ashbury’, as in Haight-Ashbury and it’s a catalyst for images of the hippie and bohemian era.

The hotel is filled with photographs, eclectic collection of pinned butterflies, pleated silk lampshades and “moss” fringe trimmings. There’s a very artistic and contrastive look and there are a lot of different colors and textures used when designing the interior of the hotel, from elaborate paisley wallpapers, distressed leathers and linens, ‘antique’ style cotton velvets to vintage Turkish and Persian carpets.

The Redburry Hotel is a very theatrical and dramatic place that resembles a townhouse ore than a hotel. There’s a very warm, comfortable and inviting atmosphere inside that makes the guests feel very welcomed. When renovating the hotel, the architects working at the project were asked to try to work as much as possible with the existing conditions or at least to adapt to them. The result was a unique and very theatrical restoration, a sophisticated hotel that instantly seduces everyone.
