The Theatre Sofa by Ted Boerner

The extremely comfortable Theatre Sofa is part of the Theatre Collection and it was designed by Ted Boerner in 2001. Since Ted used to be a theatre and dance student, he developed a great sense of perception when it comes to the shape of the body. His experience influenced many of his latter creations. He began to pay more attention to the human body and the way it changes its shape when a person sits down. This allowed him to come up with innovative designs that focus on shape rather than on material in order to make the user feel comfortable.

Theatre Sofa in Edelman All-Grain Leather

Notice the gentle angled back of this sofa, the full seat depth and the elevated arms. These are all elements meant to make you feel more comfortable. The designer focused of form and not on excessive layers of studding that are supposed to make us more comfortable. As a result, his creations are very successful in this matter.
