The Stylish Pipe Chair by Yaroslav Rassadin

Functional at first, the pipe has become nowadays merely a decorative object for most people. It’s a vintage decoration that is very appreciated because of its shape. The delicacy of the curvilinear details and the overall simple and very elegant look made it a very popular decoration. It’s one of the reasons why Russian industrial designer Yaroslav Rassadin has chosen the pipe as inspiration source for his new creation.

It’s the Pipe Chair and has a shape and overall design that definitely resemble the object that also gave its name. A pipe is an unusual thing to inspire the design of a chair but, when you see it, it becomes obvious that this was a very inspired choice. The Pipe Chair is part of a collection of furniture called “Stream”. The chair beautifully imitates the form of the time that has become a classical image. It’s why the chair also has great potential of becoming a classical, mostly because of its extremely elegant and timeless design.

The designer chose the pipe as inspiration for his creation not only because of the elegance of the lines and the beauty of the whole object. Another reason was the fact the actual shape of the pipe has the potential of being adapted and to become a chair without any major changes. The chair is coated with soft upholstery and follows all ergonomic standards. It’s still a concept but it will hopefully be produced soon.
