The Quaro shelf unit by Hertel & Klarhoefer

When it comes to storage, there are things you don’t mind putting on display and things you would rather keep private or hidden. As for the furniture, it’s usually either one or the other. It’s hard to find a storage unit that combines the two elements. The Quaro shelf unit is one of those. This piece of furniture features both exposed shelves and hidden compartments.

The Quaro shelf unit was designed by Hertel & Klarhoefer for Flötotto. It has a simple and modern design. The unit has a rectangular shape. It’s composed of several cubicles or compartments. They all have the same shape and dimensions. Among the 12 compartments, four of them have doors. They form a cubes area with four colorful doors that can be opened to basically reveal the same storage space as the other shelves. The difference is that these four are hidden behind closed doors and can be sued to store more private items or things that you don’t want everyone to see.

The Quaro unit is a very functional and practical piece of furniture. It would make a nice addition to any modern or contemporary home. It can be included in the living room or library. It’s averstile unit that can serve as a bookcase or as any other type of storage unit. You can also store DVDs and CDs and you can use the shelves to display decorations such as photo frames.
