The One&One chair by Konstantinos Pamporis

This is the One&One chair. It’s based on a very interesting concept. The One&One chair is basically formed of two distinct pieces. Each of the pieces symbolized one person in a relationship. They both have to work together to keep the relationship stable and they are both equally important.

They can count on each other and they’re always together. As the designer says, “a relationship is only possible when there exists dependence.” The One&One chair was designed by Konstantinos Pamporis. The idea behind his project is very simple and yet very interesting and bold. Notice how both chairs rely on each other and the way they complete each other.

One of the chairs has only one leg on one side and this makes automatically dependent on the other chair. As it happens in most relationships there is one person who gets to be the one that takes care of stuff. That would be the green chair in this case. The other one is also important and has less responsibility. The chairs have a very simple design as to let the eye focus on the principle and not on the looks. Even though I like the idea very much, I wonder exactly how stable is the pin chair. I’m not sure if I would like to be the one sitting on that one.
