The Natuzzi Sound Chair now with Swarovski crystals

Natuzzi is a luxurious Italian sound chair and it has been involved in a creative project. The INDEX Student Challenge 2011 was focused on this exact piece of furniture. The contestants were asked to redesign the luxurious Italian Natuzzi sound chair. Four designs have been presented by the team that won.

They were all interesting and one of them involved Swarovski crystals. This was also the design that won the competition. The team that won was formed of seven girls from the Interiors Department of Manipal University in Dubai. The chair also features speakers and mp3 players and it’s now available for sale at the Natuzzi store on Shaikh Zayed Road in Dubai.

The original chair was very simple but stylish and elegant. The makeover it got is very glamorous. The crystals really make it pop. Still, I’m not sure if such a glitzy design is very comfortable. The proceeds from the sale will go towards the International Education for Children campaign supported by Dubai Cares. The Natuzzi sound chair was impressive as it was and now it’s even more eye-catching that it has crystals all over it. Even though I admire the new design of the chair, I still find the Swarovsky crystals a safe way to go. I think that a more creative approach would have been interesting to see.{found on luxurylaunches}
