If you were to ask somebody about the location of one of the most expensive apartments, I bet China would never even cross your mind as a possibility. However, reality always overpasses any kind of imagination and I found myself staring at the price of a penthouse apartment in China that has been recently listed for the huge sum of $42.2 million.

As you can imagine, the penthouse apartment is huge, covering a surface of 1,000 sq m and having everything you can possibly want. A big part of the price asked for this real estate is due to its location: Beijing city of China, right next to next to the Diaoyutai State Guest House.The latter was the official guest house for Jiang Qing (or Madame Mao) some time in the 1960s and 70s.

But apart from the location and area covered, this apartment benefits from parking lots in development in the center of the city which is great, too. So, China may be the last Communist state on Earth, but it does know something about fair prices for luxury real estates.{found on blogs.ft}
