The Chatwal Hotel is a Stanford-White designed building, completed in 1905. The actual design of the building as a high-class hotel is due to Master Architect and Designer Thierry Despont who redesigned the building as a tribute to Art Deco. Originally, the hotel was a hot spot for actresses, and in time he a member of the prestigious “Leading Hotels of the World”.

The hotel numbers 83 luxury rooms, highly modernized with heated toilet seats and 42-inch plasma screen televisions. The designer used worm colors, close to a chocolate palette, which will delight you. Despite its modern features, the renovator kept the design of the originally golden period.  The hotel also has a covered pull and large balconies from where you can admire the outside view. If you think about spending your night at this high class hotel you should know that you’ll pay $500 to over a $1,000 a night and that the hotel collects a 14.75 percent tax rate from its guests. It seems that the tax debt for 2011 exceeds one million dollars, fact that disturbs the city who wants its money back.
