The colorful Chevron House in West London

What you see here looks more like an office or a headquarters of some sort but it’s actually a private residence. It’s not just any residence but a very colorful one with an extremely energetic and dynamic interior design. The Chevron House is located in West London and it was designed by award winning design firm Andy Martin Architects. It’s a modern home, inspired by the architecture of most contemporary homes out there but with exaggerated proportions and details.

This is a house that was designed to impress. This is also a little exaggerated in my opinion, since one’s home should be designed to respond to the inhabitants’ needs, to be cozy and inviting, the place where you want to be when you’re having a bad day. But if this is what the owners of this place see as a perfect home then who are we to judge them? Let’s take a closer look at this property.

The walls from the interior have been removed thus resulting in an open floor plan. Each of the three levels shares the same characteristics and the décor is very dynamic and eye-catching. The ground floor houses the public spaces of the house and the different areas are divided only by the use of color and material. The second and third floors include the private areas with bedrooms and bathrooms.

The kitchen and the living areas have been extended into the garden as to benefit from the natural light. As for the interior design, notice how the ceilings and the walls and light in color and it’s only the furniture and the accessories that feature vibrant colors. This creates a fresh and energetic atmosphere.
