The Carr Hall Castle in Yorkshire
Castles are very rare nowadays. They are seen more like a reminiscence of the past, like historic elements and some of them have been turned into museum. Nevertheless, this only makes them seem more special and when we stumbled across this beautiful castle that is still being used as a home we had to share it with you.
The Carr Hall Castle is actually the home of Leeds entrepreneurs Terry George and Michael Rothwell. The owners had to put a lot of work into this place in order to make it look like it does now. They had to spend more than 4 years and almost £1 million in order to restore the castle. The process involved restoring the walls and taking them back to their original brickwork and also adding a modern touch to the interior.
This luxurious castle, located in a secluded, wooden valley somewhere between Leeds and Manchester, is now an opulent but still elegant and stylish place, with deep colors, dark wood and interesting combinations of textures and materials. The castle sits on 12 acres of lush land and the property also includes an outdoor courtyard with a barbeque area and a lake. Since it’s such a beautiful place in such a romantic location, it would have been a pity not to let more people admire and enjoy it. That’s why the castle is now available for hire for a home stay.
