The Black Interior Burbury Hotel by Katon Redgen Mathieson

If you are a successful business person and you have to go on a business trip in Canberra, Australia, I advise you to stay in The Burbury Hotel. Katon Redgen Mathieson has designed the interiors of this amazing place, giving a business atmosphere to this building with plenty of dark spaces with simple, elegant lines. Most of the rooms are decorated in black and white only, and I think the result is really great. Dark fabric wall panels, white shutters, custom made carpets, white ceilings and marble floors, together with elegant dark furniture are the perfect elements to create the right environment for negotiating.

The private rooms have a special translucent white wall which separates the bedroom from the open bathroom area, where there are the shower and toilet, and accommodates a built in desk, wardrobes and a mini bar. If you like to lie down in bed without being disturbed by your partner, this hotel has huge, comfortable beds and cotton beddings to help you rest in the best conditions.

The hotel’s corridors have the same color palette like the guest rooms, with black walls and tan striped carpet and the public areas incorporate dark timber panels and Gohera limestone floors. Up, the Burbury terrace located on the upper level of the hotel is designed  to have multiple functions, like the business area and also places to  enjoy free time with friends.
