The antique Bérgere chair adorned with a turquoise neon

This unusual-looking piece of furniture is the original antique Bérgere chair. It was found in a flea market in North Paris. Eve though it looked old and not very appealing, it was still a very valuable piece of furniture that had the potential of shining once again. The chair was brought to London where it became part of the Rough Diamond collection in 2008.As opposed to the common belief and expectations, the chair was left unrestored and untouched. The only change that was made was that turquoise neon. The chair instantly became something else, like it got a new life.

As a result, the chair became a very unique piece and it was authenticated with a brass plaque. Not everything you see has to be beautiful. Some things can be aesthetically pleasing without being beautiful, just how poetry doesn’t have to use beautiful words to be considered art.The Bérgere chair has been sold. However, similar pieces can be commissioned for those want to make this piece a part of their home. The chair is part of a very interesting collection formed of illuminated vintage furniture.

All pieces are limited edition and identified with a numbered plaque and a letter of authentication. The Bérgere chair has quickly become a star, with its rough look and once very elegant design. It’s visible from the start that the chair used to be a very beautiful piece of furniture with a sleek and very stylish design. Now it looks very different but it can be brought to life once again.
