The 370 sqm Belvedere Residence

This beautiful residence is located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and it was designed by Anastasia Arquitetos. The project was completed in 2011 and the house occupies a 370 sqm area. The space has been divided into two levels and the barrier between indoor and outdoor areas is thin and sometimes unnoticeable. This way you get the feeling of a wider and larger space and it’s also a way of mixing a little the decors.

The site was quite small so some parts of the design had to be left out. There is no entry hall as it would have only used significant space that the architects were able to use is a more practical manner. All the rooms have large doors and the front and back facades are made of matted glass that is also an effective thermal insulator. The residence also includes a beautiful indoor garden filled with natural light.

The house sits one meter above the ground, a decision that has been made in order to avoid irregularities and to provide a better insulation from the soil moisture. The upper walls feature concrete beams with ripped pieces of wood left visible. It was initially a structural option that turned out to offer aesthetic benefits as well. Despite all these elements, the final result was a light weighted residence with an airy and pleasant décor.
