Almost fully constructed using sun powered bamboo, the Bamboo house of Tonji University in Shanghai at Solar Decathlon in fact is a beautiful sight that had its roots when nature became the main priority. The solar array here is able to generate nine kilowatts electricity for a bedroom and a living room blueprint.

It is a combination of traditionalism and modernity, the state-of-art and traditional Chinese architecture technology inclusive of humidity and temperature control systems, a bamboo roofed garden and high level thermal insulated systems. This house indeed is the outcome of the team-work done by twenty members which comprises of undergraduate students, postgraduates and doctors who are from varied disciplinary.

This is how eco friendly house design – bamboo house with solar energy came into existence. However, their main motto behind this is that this solar powered house must assist in promoting their thinking ideologies regarding the use of renewable energy in the residential urban locales.
