Spring interior ideas

Believe it or nor today is the first day of spring. I only know it if I look at the calendar because, if I look out of the window and I see all that snow … I am stuck in winter. But since it’s officially spring I thought I would give you some ideas of how to decorate and arrange your house so as to show it’s spring time inside, too. And the best way to do this is by using the colours that are specific for spring. That does not necessarily mean you have to paint the whole house in light green. Just use some pastel colours, together with the light green and also some floral motifs where possible.

For example you can change the curtains and purchase some that are coloured in pastel colours like pink or yellow with red and orange combinations, but make sure you match them with the carpet or the bedding. If you also add some matching funny looking pillows (shaped like flowers for example) the effect will be great. Or you can use these nice looking wall stickers in the shape of flowers and leaves and you can peel them off when the season is over or you get tired of them.

You can use some colourful wall paper with floral patterns – like this nice model with tree branches in bloom. Of course it’s not normal to change your furniture when the season changes, but you could try making some protective covers for the furniture, especially the chairs and armchairs and , if you have them in different colours, you could use them in different seasons. This way you will have a different look for the room and will protect the furniture at the same time. Do not make major changes, but just pay attention to the little details that make a room look amazing. A few pillows, a small rug , a different table cloth and curtain are enough to make your house look totally different. And, of course, the whole spring time picture will be completed by a vase or bowl of fresh flowers.
