Saving Space Becomes Natural With Vertical Storage

Vertical storage is at the top of my list of things I want to have in my home when I move in. That’s because I find it very economical and practical. Theoretically, it’s not that much different to have a vertical drawer instead of a horizontal one but you’ll see that it’s much easier to fit vertical storage in the room, no matter its function.

Vertical storage is not just for small objects. You could, for example, store your bikes on the wall and they’ll take little space and occupy no floor space. It’s even more economical when you have more than one bike.

This type of bookcase is one of my favorites. It’s tall and sleek, takes very little floor space and it can easily fit in the corner of a room. Also, you can organize the books into categories on the shelves just like you would on a horizontal shelf or even better.

Slanted ceilings don’t usually let you use the walls for storage but you can come up with custom designs like in this case. There’s plenty of space there for a big bookcase, some display shelves and even an aquarium.

Be practical and make room for extra storage in your closet. These open shelves are perfect as they don’t occupy a lot of space and they let you store and organize a lot of things in baskets and boxes.

The living is also an area where storage can be a problem. Here we have a very clever and interesting system for storing firewood for the fireplace. It looks good and it doesn’t take up a lot of space since it’s a niche in the wall.
