Samba Lamp

We’ve definately seen our fair share of lamps here on Homedit but everyday brings a new challenge and a new design.For most of us the lamp is a simple object used to lighten our home but for some people lamps are dynamic objects and a huge part from any interior design. To reinforce this statement I will present you something extraordinary, rich and unique.

It is a collection of lamps called “samba” after the famous hot dance style and in a moment you will see why.Australian designer Brad Stebbing imagined this collection very dynamic keeping in the same time the traditional lines of the classic lamp. This exact recipe is applied in dance; sexy provocative moves combined with certain traditional dance schemes and rigors.

Inspired by the way the human body moves in that rush of adrenaline called samba, Brad twisted and curved the lamps to mimic the hips of a voluptuous Latin-American woman.Another cool thing about this collection is represented by the materials used for the building process. Instead of using bamboo strips to be curved in the desired shapes, Brad used rattan, a much thicker materials that could be processed more easily in a very aesthetic lampshade with a tremendous imposing presence.I know that usually lamps are used as a “single” but I would love to see these in pairs with different colors and shapes, just like an arena where lots of dancers tune their bodies in perfect harmony with sensual rhythms.
