Sagers’ Artistic Modern House in Dallas by Stephen Chambers

In almost any house there is at least a piece of art which brings more sensitivity and color inside. There are many art lovers too who collect all sorts of artwork and try to find them a special place in their home. Those who travel all around the world are even richer in the number of these art pieces so that their house becomes the shelter of so many cultures and artistic styles.

The same thing happened to Rod and Ginger Sager’s house which accommodates many art pieces collected from all over the world. It is a modern house located in Preston Hollow, Dallas, Texas and designed by the architect Stephen Chambers. The house covers a surface of 4,800 square feet, has three bedrooms, 2 full baths and other two half baths.

The living room represents a corner of relaxation, with large windows, modern pieces of furniture and a great black piano. Behind the modern lounge chairs there is a nice fireplace accompanied by a wood art piece set next to it and a painting on the wall above it. On the other side of the fireplace there is a traditional dining area with a traditional wood diner table and chairs, all set on a vintage carpet. A Gene Davis’ painting is hung on the wall above the fireplace too. The 3D wood sculpture represents a point of attraction and a piece of art too.

The expanded kitchen has many pieces of dark wood completed by the stainless steel appliances which make the design look contrastive. The cherry wood built in shelving master bedroom creates a lot of storage space for many other things and complete the traditional image of the house. In the downstairs living room there is a built-in –bookcase which becomes the shelter of many books and family pictures. Outside the bridge that connects the driveway to the front entrance of the house gets a lot of attention while the pieces of art like the wire sculpture by John berry, the “Trophy” sculpture or the wood stump complete the Sagers’ artistic home.
