Ruby Springs Prefab is a small residence located in a remote location in Ruby Springs, Montana. It was designed and built by Medicine Hat Inc. The house was designed to perfectly adapt and react to the elements and the surrounding environment. It’s a prefabricated house meaning that it was easier to put it together and the construction took less than expected. The architects chose to use prefabricated parts in order to conserve resources and to create a residence that would perfectly fit the plot.

The residence was designed as a continuous and adjustable space that would offer a unique spatial experience. The house features perable, hydraulic screens made with Caterpillar excavator cylinders and tractor parts. The screens can open and close whenever the owner wishes. This way he can use this system to catch a better view of the mountains and the amazing surrounding landscape or to simply get some shade from the sun.
