Renovated 1980s residence in Aspen by Stonefox

This stylish house was originally built in the 1980s. It has a very charming design and a surprisingly contemporary look. The house is located in Aspen, Colorado. It has been recently renovated by Stonefox Design when it got a simpler and more casual design.

Over the years, the house has been repeatedly transformed and adopted various architectural styles. It was the subject of all sorts of combinations and styles and now it’s been updated to a contemporary look. The architects were asked this time to try to simplify the exterior as well as the interior. The reason was that the owners wanted to make room for their extensive avant-garde contemporary art collection and they also wanted the décor to match the same style and approach.

The architects adopted an Asian-inspired approach. The house now has a simple yet strong look and a casual yet elegant décor. The color palette is retrained and includes tones of beige and brown. The furniture used is simple and comfortable. The house also has a luxurious feel and a stylish décor. Everything was carefully chosen for this project, including the flooring, the veneers, fabrics, textures and the carpets. All the details are beautiful, subtle yet visually strong. There’s a very nice balance between dark and bright tones and, even though each room has its own charm, they all follow the same pattern and form a continuous décor.
