Private Contemporary Villa in Spain

Dom Architectura, a Barcelona-based design studio has designed this amazing private house. Completed in 2009 by architect Pablo Serrano Elorduy and interior designer Blanca Elorduy, this stunning luxury villa can be found in Ciutadella de Menorca, Spain. Being a summer house, the architects focused on creating a living place with plenty of entertaining areas and open spaces for a family who wants to spend during summers a lot of time outside. That is why the interior areas of this Spanish villa are related to the exterior ones through some big sliding glass doors.

The property is isolated from the public spaces through tall shrubs because that stone fence which surrounds the plot is only a decoration, a direct connection with the nature. In the courtyard the architect and designer focused their attention on creating a special landscaped area. In the right side were used pavements and gravel in different tones, and to the left, we slowly notice a transition to vegetation, green areas surrounded by stone and gravel.

The built area is on an upper level, bounded by a wooden platform which surrounds a beautiful lighted pool and the front porch. The house’s interior is very open; on the ground floor we can see the living room connected with the kitchen and dining area, and a wood and steel staircase which leads us upstairs, on the bedrooms. All those big windows have sliding wooden slats that act as sunscreens, giving privacy and multiplying the usability.{pics by Cisco Moll}.
