PP Tube #2 Chair by Tom Price

Sometimes designers imagine things that look really great, but can’t have an immediate usefulness and they just remain to be admired for the way they look and that’s it. It’s just like those fancy dresses of the haute couture the designers create and the public admires, but they would never wear one of them in the street or even at a fancy party. That is the case with PP Tube #2 chair designed by the British designer Tom Price. This chair belongs to the “Meltdown series” and , as you can see, it is made of plastic tubes that are heated until they melt down and then they are put together so as to take the shape of a chair.

The tubes have different lengths depending on the place they have in the chair structure. The ones making up the seat are shorter and the ones from the legs are longer. The chair in in white or black, both models looking very interesting. I am not sure if you can use it as a regular chair and if it can support the weight of a person, but you can order it for decorative purposes for about 2240 British pounds.
